I've built a website and have all of the content that I want already and want to incorporate a site search somewhere on my pages. I really have no idea how to go about doing this so any response would be helpful. Are there any programs available that can do this for me. I know a decent amount of programming would this be too large a task to build myself.

There are quite a few ready build applications that make this possible. There are also third parts companies who offer site search as a service, some are free some are fee based.

It may be just me, but I like to keep this sort of thing on the site, so installing a site search script seams like good sense.

You may want to have a look through hotscripts.com for "site search" One good example of a site search script is "fluid dynamics search engine" (fdse). I haven't used this script in a while but it used to be available in 2 versions. Shareware (with link to fdse) or paid with link removed.

The main third parties that provide site search are freefind and Google site search.

Hope this helps.
