I'm inm the proccess of choosing a host and I want to be able to see where all my traffic is coming from. Do servers provide this or is it something i have to intstall?

The hosting server will write all statistical information to a log file. The host is them responsible for how they let you display this information. Some hosts use a web based application where you can view your data in a pretty graphical format with charts, graphs etc.

Some hosts on the other hand only supply you with the raw log file. In this case you can download it and use a pc based log file analyser.

You could probably drop your host an email to ask what stat options they offer.
