Ok, I have searched plenty of threads here, but I still haven't found an exact answer to this question.

Here is the problem:

I have two sites
1 of the sites has been around for about 4 years, the other site has been around since January of this year.

The cache for both sites are way out of date. The search engine spiders haven't cached all of the pages either.

I have updated content on both pages, but no luck so far.

Should I resubmit to the search engines, or should I wait for months and months and pray? :/

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Hemeno.

Why does the cashed version of your page concern you? Any traffic that visits those pages is essentially being stolen from you by the search engines. I would think that you would want to be more concerned getting people to visit your actual site.

Each SE has different schedules for updating their cached pages, so it would be difficult to say. I would not suggest resubmitting. Just get some more links and add some more content and let the SEs worry about their cache. They'll get there eventually...and create unauthorized copies of your site... ;)

Ok, well let me ask another question.

I'm optimizing the site to get a higher rank in the search engines.

I won't move up if the search engines don't visit my site regularly, correct?

The SE spiders tend to visit sites more regularly if they are updated frequently with new and unique content. Keep adding new content and give them a reason to come back. Watching the SE cache is most likely time wasted. Spend that time adding a new page and you'll be better off.

Get a few more inbound links, submit your site to several directories and that will help spiders 'see' your website more often - It will also give you a lift in Search Engines.
