What do search engines considere Spam .
What I am trying to ask, how often should one advertise or submit ones site, before it's overdone
Lately i been finding the some sites have dropped me
Is it because I submitted my site to often?

handicapper,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Modern search engines follow links. If you have incoming links to your site, then you don't need to 'submit' at all. The search engine submission forum here at WebmasterWorld was deprecated in January of 2003.

Work on good content, getting subject-related sites to link to you, and other proven techniques [webmasterworld.com].

I recently read a very good defintion of spam (something like this):

If you would do something the same way if there WERE NO search engines, then it's not spam.

Meaning that if you're doing something for the benefit of search engines, like stuffing keywords into alt tags, title tags, etc, then it's spam.
