Can anyone tell me where I can find some up-to-date info on 56k vs broadband stats?

Just wondering :)

Last I heard it was nearing 50/50. Depends on where you get your info from. Many broadband companies IMHO tend to "fudge" the number a bit to solicit those who haven't upgraded.

I would suggest you keep designing for 56k if that is why you're asking.

also depends where you are / where your customers are - OK so the average dialup v. BB may be 50/50 in USA, it's different in Europe.
Go to Tokyo, get a 100MBPS cable connection.
