I am new to html authoring and am trying to create a web presence for our family business. Our business deals with direct mail. I have created my website(tiny) and published it to all the SE's. I am visited regularly by MSN and Google. We originally purchased a domain name ecrlot.com but have recently purchased OnTimeMailingServices.com.

I have created a permanent 301 redirect for all ecrlot.com URLs and want to know if the SE's will automagically change my URL's in their index to reflect my new address?

Secondly, does filenames for web pages have any affect on keyword ranking in the SE's?

Thanks for taking the time to read and possibly comment on my questions.

Hi and welcome,

No they don't.301 just provide to "inform" them about your new url address, but this has to be submitted by hand.

Secondly, does filenames for web pages have any affect on keyword ranking in the SE's?

Of course. To use a keyword as page name is very useful.
Google for example has a "preference" for pages named as keywords;for instance between two pages, one named "keyword-product" and one named "product" Google choose primarily the first.

Hope to be useful.
