I don't understand why so few free services offer MySQL databases, and when they do, it's usually limited to one. I mean, plenty of free sites are willing to give away up to 1 GB of space for all kinds of files (images especially), so why can't they offer more than one simple table? Is it because there is just a lot less demand for MySQL DBs vs. pictures, or maybe because paid services like to present it as a special added feature just for show (like domain parking or subdomains, which can be done by anyone and are offered by a lot of free services). Or am I just completely missing the point?

PS: I would much appreciate any stickies of free services that prove me wrong.

Most shared hosting providers offer 1 free MySQL database, not just one table. Each database can hold many, many tables.
