Not any easy thing to predict. There is no relationship betewwe the 2 bots. All you can do is keep working on the inbound links and hope the bot follows them.

Thats another hard one to predict. I guess the frequency of the visits depends on how importains the search engine classes your site.

Some search engines also attempt to work out how often your pages update and figure this into their crawling schedule.

I have found by looking up the IP address visiting my forum (phpBB)that google is crawling on an almost constant basis, and that msn and alexa frequently show up as well.

The volume of google visits may be due to the fact that I display google ads on the forum, as well as the main body of the website. Is that a factor?

I came upon this forum from a search of "Alexa meaningful?" and the topic was closed to posts.

I'd like to make a few comments while I am here.

While I have never been convinced Alexa rank means much, I have found that I reached a point under 100,000 and the number started heading back up. Recently a hot topic at the forum has drawn many many thousands of visitors and the Alexa rank is down to 62K, dropping steadily.

According to Alexa:
Yahoo is 1. Google is 3. Webmaster World is 459.

My site is a real estate related site and I recently happened upon realestateabc which has a top site tracking thingie. I don't use it, but while I was at their site, I compared some of the top 100 in their list and they compared relatively to Alexa rank. Based on Alexa, my site would be 3 on their list IF my main page (where the reabc tracker must be placed) received the same traffic my forum does (it doesn't).

A well known marketer uses Alexa rank heavily to promote his web site packages, demonstrating that all of his clients' sites score well in Alexa. Seems to be a good selling point, but that's an assumption on my part.

Comments?

Hi,

From what i have concluded based on my experience -

If you have google ads on your site - it helps the google bots to visit frequently.

When you add a new link - if this page is visited in a browser, the robots will very soon index it.

To get indexed easily, add more links on the pages which are already indexed in google and have google ads on them, and them visit the pages at least once in the browser, after you have added the links.

MB

Are you sure youre not seeing the media partners (google) bot?
