My name is Robert Anthony (my friends call me Rob)and I figured this was the appropriate place for a first post. Board protocol is near and dear to my heart. I have 4 domains online with one being an ecommerce site and to be honest I have not worked as hard at anything as I have on this. Promotion is my concern now as the site is up and running and ready for business. I have made progress with backlinks and continue to see that as a major effort. Quality is important. I am not as patient as I will have to be. I'm glad to be a part of this forum and hope to be a contributer while I learn. Cheers.

Hi Rob,

Welcome to Webmaster World.

You've found one of the best places for information and support with topics covering the gamut of the, well, webmaster world.

A quick hint to get started and for making this a really good resource is to scan the library section of each topic forum (the link is in the gray bar under the breadcrumbs near the top of each page). Each library contains a wealth of topical posts and links to a lot of resources.

There's a heck of a lot of reading here, and you just might have to be a touch 'patient' to get the most out of it. And there's a gaggles of folks who can help out with specific questions.

Good luck,

Jim

Check out the SE Promotion Forum [webmasterworld.com] and the Link Development Forum [webmasterworld.com]. Also, Google News [webmasterworld.com] often has lots of good info on how to get Google to pay attention to you. And, of course, Webmaster General [webmasterworld.com] is always worth peeking into every so often.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Hi

I will also introduce myself here.

I'm a newbie to this group - I run 3 websites with the technical work being done by developers whereas I am more involved with content.

One site is a magazine/portal type site and the other 2 are ecommerce sites.

I'm interested in SEO and in basic design work which I do undertake myself.

Cheers
Michelle
