subdomain problem

hi
i made a subdomain in my website and it

sub.mywebsite.com

i uploaded all the files in the folder sub or the subdomain

when i enter
sub.mywebsite.com/
it dont show index page

when i try to open
sub.mywebsite/page1.htm
it dont show page1

when i try
mywebsite/sub/page1.htm
it shows page fine

whats the problem and how it can be rectified
i have access to httaccess file if needed?

seems to be DNS tansfer problem to me its working on domain which i created days back and not on domain which i created yesterday,i think i would work fine tommorow
