Hi,

Thanks for the other advice. I've come across another website idea. Can you let me know what you think?

You know the programmes you can join and get paid when you get people to click on the links? I was thinking of starting a website that profited from people clicking on links (pay to click, pay for leads, affiliate programs). Has anyone any good experiences of doing this type of thing?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards

many people are very successful with that model. many others are not.

for it to work you need traffic. for traffic you need content. for content you need to pick a SUBJECT....

There are entire forums here on WW about affiliate programs [webmasterworld.com] and AdSense pay-per-click [webmasterworld.com].

Also, please choose descriptive titles for your posts rather than just "Re: Advice". Visitors should be able to have some idea what your post is about *before* they open it.

Making a living using affiliate marketing might be possible. It generally works that you choose a subject that you are interested in personally (it's much easier and more fun to do all the work you have to do if you choose something that you really are passionate about)

Then it's time for writing content, most of the content you will have to write yourself. If you put in a sum of money into the website you can also buy content.

Make sure that it's valuable content for the visitor (obviously).

Then choose an affiliate program, set up buying links in addition to your content, banners and other links. Also you have to go by the usual marketing process of the site (which usually takes some time to have effect).

Building websites and making money from them is a long process which requires a lot of work and time. But it's fun too so :)
