When uploading pictures and pages via FTP through Dreamweaver MX, I can only 'put' a few pages at a time without including independant files. In order to upload the graphics, I have to go under the images folder and 'put' them seperately and only about 6-8 at a time. More than that I get the same error.

an FTP error has occurred - cannot put image.jpg.
500 'OR': command not understood.

I believe it has something to do with the firewall, however I would not bet my life on it nor do I know how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sandi

Download a copy of cuteftp or something. I have had nothing but trouble with DW ftp. Cute lets you work thru a firewall with no problems.
Can I recommend products? I dunno.

I have found that if I upload text pages, I can only upload about 30-40 at a time, little images- about 20, big graphics- same as you about 5. I get the error-time out lost connection message or something like that. I just learned to live with smaller batches in my uploads, it is a pain but they still get to the server. I'm also on dial-up, I don't know if that makes a difference?

Sometimes the firewall will only permit FTP when it is set to passive in Dreamweaver.

DW FTP is also a nightmare on dialup, I would do the work in DW then use another program such as WS_FTP to upload.

DW ftp engine is crap, very slow. get a free open source solution like FileZilla
