I've been using a free service from Atomz. Now, I want to have my own search engine. Is there any tutorial/script that is friendly enough for someone who's still a novice in scripting? My website is running on a Linux(Unix) OS.

If you use PHP and a MySQL database, have a look at phpdig. It's pretty and easy to install.

swishe-e is another nice indexing program. You can build your own display around its results or I think there are a couple perl/php front ends around.
