Hi,

Probably the wrong place but I was not sure where to post my question.

The problem is this;

www.example.com does not have a rank with the google tool bar

www.example.com/index.cfm does have a rank in the google tool bar.

Can someone explain why this has happened as they are pointing to the same files?

Cheers

D

Welcome to Webmasterworld Darkish

How are your internal links set up? If they are pointed to www.example.com/index.cfm rather then www.example.com then www.example.com/index.cfm will get the bulk of the PR.

Skippy made a good point.

PR is pagerank (not site rank) so the value is being assigned to the page as opposed to the domain. If you have links pointing to your site then example.com/ and example.com/index.htm are very different.

Ah right thanks for the information, yes most point to /index.cfm rather than just bleh.com/ so that would explain it.

Is there a way to change this so it relects the PR, is it a cast of changing my links to point to bleh.com/ rather than /index.cfm?

Cheers
