Hello all,

I've been trying to figure out what to do about a site search. I need something sort of simple because Im sort of scripting challenged but can get around somewhat.
I need to be able to specify which folder(s) from my root are included in the search. This is very important for I have several different sites on the same host.
I've tried the entropy search feature that comes w/ cpanel (host is unix/apache) but cant seem to get it to stick to the one site's folder.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

if you are looking for an external search engine, I'd recommend FreeFind - it can be customised a lot and you can specify which parts of a website to spider and which ones not. It's very easily configured as well.
If you stick with the free option, it will spider your site once a day.
There are size limits for the free version as well, but you have to have quite a bit of text content to exceed those.

Of course, there are many search scripts that you could run from your own site.

I agree Free Find is a pretty good service and I have used it myself in the past. However I am a great beliver in doing it yourself. I would be tempted to take a look through some of the script resource sites sich as hotscripts etc and have a look for a suitable site search script.

I know you said you arent to good with scripts but this could be a great oppertunity to learn :)

To be honest most scripts have pretty good documentation and if you follow the read me file you should be ok.
