I wanted to have some information pluged into my UK site like wheather, news, shares, phone directories. How can I do this without just linking to bloomberg.co.uk etc.

There are many worthwhile directories on the net that show you different kinds of feeds you can use. One of my favourite is "freesticky" (google them).
