Hi,

On some sites I notice the little picture (IE) changes when you add a site to your favourites, meaning some sites supply their own custom image.

Is this something you need a dedicated server for or something? I've searched by own PC and I've heard the thing is called a 'favicon' but as a file name that doesn't come on my machine or an FTP search on my server.

I'm using Coolpage (WYSIWYG) exporting to HTML and uploading via CoreFTP lite.

Where would I find this little crittur and how to change it? Anyone know?

You need to create a small image (like 16x16 or 32x32) in an icon editor program, and upload it to your server so it'll be available at www.yoursite.com/favicon.ico - ie put it in the same directory as your main home page index.html or index.htm or whatever.

It's only the wrong icon because I tested one for my new site, have created another one more suitable for my existing (.org) site and over-written it.

Favicon icons are becomeing more and more widespread. When I first heard about them a couple of years ago they where really only used when you accessed a site that you had stored in your bookmarks. Now quite a few web browsers actualy show the icon at all times, reguardless of weather you have bookmarked it or not.
