Creating subfolders in FP

Good morning web geniuses!

I'm a rookie and I design in FP. My company sells widgets nationwide. I was told that I should make a separate page for each American State loosely based on my root page content with varying titles, META tags, and searchable content.

If I build these pages (a page a day they say), where do I put them? Do I create a subfolder for each state and then put an "index.htm" page inside the folder thus making the address appear (www.widgets.com/Alabama), or do I just create each page under my root folder and just change the name of each page so it appears (www.widgets.com/Alabama.html)?

Which way makes the SE's more happy?

Thanks guys!

First, welcome to WW.

As to your question....

You could do either. If you don't have many more than the fifty pages, keeping them all in the root might be fine.

If you have a lot of other pages you could make a seperate folder, maybe called states, and put them in there.

widgets.com/states/alabama.htm

If you did the latter, you might want to make the index page for /states/ be a "State by State Guide to Widgets", or something similar, where you have links to the fifty state pages.
