What is Quality Content

I have just published my first website about a month ago selling Widgets.

And having read a number of posts on Webmasterworld.com it is clear that lots
of quality content is essential.

I have therefore extended the initial 20 page shop with some 200+ pages that I have been developing offline. The content of which I, or any other human being would regard as quality, relevant content. This includes Widget News, Guidelines to using widgets, and widget details etc etc etc. To which I intend to add 10+ pages per day.

My question however is this. I am selling Widgets, so will search engine crawlers regard content relating to the industry as relevant?

Regards

Then you have nothing to worry about do you ;)

I think it is good to have plenty of keyword-rich content geared towards the audience you are trying to sell to. If you think your potential customers will be drawn towards this content and will want to read it, then it is quality content.

Ah but will a software program understand.

For example, my site may be selling DVD players, but my content may need to be more generic talking mostly about consumer electronics.

As for keyword Rich, what sort of ratio are we aiming for 1 word per 100 word page?

Well, I'm not an expert on that kind of thing, but I think the idea is to have content relevant to your keywords and potential customers, without resorting to spammy overuse of particular words. If you check out some of the topics in the Search Engine World and Marketing World boards, they go into this stuff in some detail.
