How does a search engine read my site

which bits does it crawl first?

My site is in a table. To simplify the question let's say.

One long cell at the top and then 4 columns underneath.

The middle cell has another table inside it with pictures as well as text outside the table.

What order would google in particular crawl my site.

This is my guess

Top cell
left column
middle column then the table inside it
right column

Would really appreciate someone clarifying this for me.

Many thanks

Using Lynx (a text-only web browser) to view your webpages can give you an idea how a spider "sees" your webpages too.

I know it did for me and besides it helped me to improve my websites in means of accessibility.
