Hi there,
Welcome to WebmasterWorld.com :)

Installing a CMS can be a little tricky, it is very importaint to make sure your host meets the requirements of the cms you intend to install.

In the case of postnuke, you will require php and mysql.

You may wish to have a look at hotscripts.com from there you will find links to literaly loads of content management systems, many are free or opensource.

You can also check out Mambo CMS.

About Install

Either PhpNuke or Mambo will require you to have a php + mysql DB.

Also, both software comes with a easy to understand read me file. Many a times, these files might not make much sense to a novice, and during such situation the best thing to do is, follow one line of intsruction at a time.

Just make sure that required directories/files are having proper permissions (CHMOD, you can use FTP software for this) and you are using proper login information for mysql. (generally host info is "localhost")

Hope this helps.

I haven't used it, but I have heard that MM Contribute is supposed to be excellent. You can get a trial version for free I think.

We use Stellent at work - which is OK but you clients need to be able to markup Word templates with 'Styles' - the content produced is clean though.
