Hello all,

I am a newbie at this also. I have found myself in the position of not only learning design, but managing a server. The server has previously been set up and all the passwords, permissions, etc. What I have to do now is to change all of the passwords. To the best of my knowledge, none of the permissions, etc. need to be changed, just the passwords to be changed. I know how to go into it and right click on it to reset password, just want to make sure that I am not overlooking something else.

Also, in the site, I need to find a way to get the date to automatically update. Can you please give me some advice?

Thanks in advance for your time and assistance.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Sanbo!

Some questions first - what kind of server is it, and what operating system does it run? Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris? What kind of access to you have to the server - is it under your desk or a 1000km away? Can you access it via SSH or via Terminal Services, or just via FTP? Do you have root or Administrator access?

For the date question, I assume you want to insert the date into the documents. For that, I'll wait until you've answered the above!

Thanks for the welcome.

I have full access to the server and it is within my reach. We are running IIS and Windows 2003. As far as accessing it, I either do a remote connection, network into it or if I am in the office, just log in.

As far as the date issue is concerned. I am wanting to have the date show up in the site itself. That way, the visitors can just look at the top of each page for the current date.

Thanks for your assistance. It is greatly appreciated.
