I registered a domain name that's still inactive, it's taking quite a while to access the site through the domain...

Are there any ways to get around this?

Thanks-

It shouldn't take more than 72 hours, so you might want to double check that it was pointed right with the nameserver info.

The web host will generally give FTP login information that works right away, even before the domain name resolves, but *seeing* the site with a browser is different. With name-based hosting with a shared IP number you can't see it until it resolves, but if there's a unique IP number you can generally see it by typing the IP number in the browser address bar.

If it's been past 72 hours have someone in a different geographic area check it, and contact the registrar to see if there's a problem.

Is it a shared or unique IP number?

It's unique- they've given me an address to ftp.

Madcat,
Just stickied you back. In a nutshell - it appears fine. If you're still having trouble, the problem lies elsewhere; your access provider or even your own machine. If you use a PC then I suggest a reboot and then clear the browser cache.
