Opera Software today announced that its revolutionary Opera smartphone browser will soon become available for Microsoft Windows Mobile software.
Opera's range of smartphone browsers includes Small-Screen Rendering (SSR) technology, an Opera innovation that enables users to browse regular Web pages for the first time on small mobile screens by reformatting the page and thus eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling.
Opera's SSR is amazing for mobile phones. This is the most exciting announcement I've heard in a while for MS smartphone software. Remember that software built for the MS smartphone platform is only one step away from and usually easily portable to the MS PDA platform.
I find that I can view most site using the wrapped format and still get an idea of how the page is laid out. Once in while, especially site with a photo gallery, I need to switch it to the wide screen format.
