I've noticed a lot of discussion about the constraints of Bluetooth given its limited range. I've found it to be useful because I bought it for just that, to connect everything around me, rather than with other people in the building or on the road. With wi-fi I've always had security breaches and interference from other users, but my Bluetooth appliances work seamlessly.
