Is there a way to have a text box default to numerical instead of alphabetical?

I'm building myself a form to make getting directions on my phone easier and I'd like the zip code box to default to numbers instead of text.

I know about using the -wap-format-input="N" but it isn't working in my form. Not sure what's up. I went to another page I use a lot, that works, and it is using CSS to apply the -wap-format crap. Tried that. No different.

Does the phone default to the setting in the first box and use that throughout the page or am I still missing something?
