Wireless Problems with IPAQ 5550

I have recently received an IPAQ 5550 and Xircom wireless network access point (both are 802.11b compatible) and although i have been able to create the wireless network at home i have been unable to get my IPAQ to recognise it, i was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem with the IPAQ or knows how i can successfully get the IPAQ to connect to the network?

Do you have the cards drivers installed? When you put it in does it give you a message? Can you open the program that came with the wirless card driver that lets you set up the settings? I have set up a bunch of different cards nn pocket pc's. I have a dell Axim now that I have a wireless cf (SMC) card in it and I love it. I have an old IPaq where I had the PCMCIA slot that I used several different cards with.

as far as i was aware the wireless (and bluetooth) features are all integrated to the IPAQ 5500, therefore no additional hardware is needed.
