Compensation?

We discovered an entire product line of our images on a competitors site. (They are #4 for main keyword - we are #1)

After documenting, I sent a Cease and Desist which included a very modest fee of $100.00 per image as compensation. The images came down almost instantly, but there has been no contact - nor did I expect any.

As the clear leader in our niche, this isn't the first time we have found large blocks of materials that were stolen from us. Thieves need to suffer - and I need to be paid. We can't justify attorney fees for this. Where do I get some leverage? At this point I'm happy to come away with nothing - so long as it costs them.

The Cease and Desists (so far) have always brought rapid action - but that is like saying to car thief, that if he is caught, he need only give it back, and everything is fine.

The next time you find it, check if they're hotlinked. If they are, pull out your copy of mod_rewrite and go have some fun. ;-)

I haven't been that lucky yet. I live for the day that I'm hotlinked - and am very ready for some nasty fun.
