site grabbed & put up without changes

fake contact details & ISP doesn't respond

Hi,
I just noticed that a site of mine has been grabbed and hosted by someone under a similar sounding domain. He has replaced my adverts with his, but the rest, including our link structure, graphics, content and page names is exactly the same.

He isnt hotlinking so I can't have his IP blocked. His contact details are fake and his ISP doesn't respond.

Anyone with a solution?

Try a direct approach to the wholesaler of his domain name ..maybe they can ( if you have irrefutable proof ) pull his dns pointer ...and thus his site?

You can contact the domain registrar tell me about the problem and also tell them that the user is having fake info. Having fake info is not legal and hence registrar should give him about 30 days notice to update the info.

Have you tried calling the host? I had a problem with email contact on a couple when this happened to me (like 4 times in one month, same guy ... he just kept buying new domains and hosting). A phone call had it taken care of in less than 30 minutes.

Also, I suggest emailing the affiliate merchants he is promoting, and networks if applicable, or it may only continue again and again.

Once I contacted the merchants, told them what this guy was doing, how many times, etc. and my success in getting his site removed by the hosts, the merchants dropped him like a hot potato. I had a wonderfully colorful email from the guy after that ... it made my day! LOL

Spoke to the webhost. They took a few days but removed his site.
