I have a client that sells an exotic food that contains high amounts of a certain vitamin. The Wall Street Journal just had a nice article touting the benefits of this vitamin in one's diet as being a major factor in decreasing one's chance of getting a certain disease. In the article, the writer notes a few studies.

Question. We don't want ot publish or copy the article, we merely want to refer to it and the studies that they refered to. How do we do this?

Do an original review of the article. Here is a short version.

“In a WSJ article titled “Benefits of Vitamin Z in Decreasing a Certain Disease” by John Doe dated March 3, 2004, the author noted the benefits of this vitamin in one's diet as being a major factor in decreasing one's chance of getting a certain disease. To support the claim, John Doe noted that a study by XYZ University and another independent study by ABC Medical Research Foundation found the same results.”

Or do something like:

“The WSJ reported on March 3, 2004 that the benefits of this vitamin in one's diet is a major factor in decreasing one's chance of getting a certain disease. To support the claim, the report noted that a study by XYZ University and another independent study by ABC Medical Research Foundation found the same results.”

Be sure you are NOT just paraphrasing the article. A couple of short quotes is usually ok.

Thank you very much. I've done it this way before, but I was looking to see if others agreed. Ultimately, I can't imagine it's a big deal, but we try to be professional and I certainly want to give credit where its due.
