Would any of you comment about your experience with polls on an ecommerce website? I had a poll last month and had a steady response throughout the month. This month I've had 5 responses to a new question. The questions are designed as a way to get to know my customers better. Should I try spacing them farther apart? Thanks.

With only five responses, it sounds like people just aren't interested in responding to your poll. I don't think this has much to do with frequency. If your previous question had better response, perhaps the poll issue was more stimulating.

I'd recommend several possible courses of action:
- forget polling unless you have something important to ask
- display the poll in a more visible manner
- consider a popup/popunder if the question is important enough to annoy your visitors

Keeping a poll longer more than a month would probably bore your repeat visitors, though at the moment it looks like nobody is paying much attention anyway.
