I mentioned in an earlier thread that someone distributed one of my articles through a Yahoo Group, then archived it on his own personal site (not a Yahoo site). I wrote to him several times, but he did not remove the article from his site. So I complained to Yahoo.

This guy was clearly abusing Yahoo's service -- he had stolen numerous articles, not just mine -- but still, since his personal site wasn't under Yahoo's control, I didn't know if Yahoo would respond to my complaint. But Yahoo did -- by deleting this person's group!

I am very impressed to see that Yahoo really does take copyright issues and abuse of its service seriously.

(I am sorry that the guy lost his group, but I did warn him that I would be forced to complain to Yahoo. He ignored me, and his friend sent me mocking emails, so they got what they deserved.)

Anyway, just wanted to pass on what I have learned about copyright violations -- the offender often will ignore you, but if you persist in complaining, someone eventually takes action. My article is STILL on this guy's site, so I'm going to keep complaining.

I complained to the Hosting company and after 2 months I saw the hosting company changed. Again complained, again changed. Never complained again. :-)
