we are re-writing some content on our site and we would like to state the following:

"A website has become as important as business card."

Is this statement too bold!

Without knowing exactly what message you're trying to convey, I would say no. However, it sounds punchier if you say:

"A website is as important as a business card" or

"Your website is as important as your business card"

I'm just trying to say that you wouldn't go into business without a business card,
and websites have achieved the same importance.

You will probably get more response if you post it in the content and copyright forum [webmasterworld.com]

I think it's catchy. And it rings true - more and more these days.

Heck, you might even want to say "Your website is more important than your business card."

"Your website is more important than your business card"

Absolutley! - How many business cards do you know of that update when ever changes happen to a company - or contain pages of easily accessible content etc...

I would be bold with you statement and go with hawkgirls comment - it IS more important.

I haven't used business cards for years. I always refer people to the website. I print professional brochures to hand out at conferences, which have the web site URL.

I print one sheet of 10 business cards on the printer just in case. I usually come home with all 10 and they get washed in my pants.

Conversely, we still use business cards but have been moving our parent firm away from an expensive color brochure that gets out of date too quickly. A combination of referring people to the web site and some printable PDFs works as well and you never have to throw away boxes of costly but obsolete literature.

For business customers, I often compare their web site to a salesperson who's available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and has great product knowledge.
