Correct grammar of common Internet (internet?) terms

They can be so varied - is there a standard?

I hadn’t spent too much time thinking about this until we had to check that all spellings of e-mail were spelt exactly e-mail, NOT: E-mail, Email, E-Mail, Email etc.

So many irregularities were detected across the site it started me thinking (dangerous I know ;) )...

Is there a consistent and recognised way of writing words such as e-mail, Website (WebSite, web site, Web site?), Javascript (JavaScript, javascript?), Webmaster (webmaster, web-master?)

I put all these through the MS word spell check but was not happy with what was being changed – no surprise there.

Anybody know of a good source of up to date reference on this because I don’t have a recent Dictionary handy (1996 Collins!)

Thanks Bcolflesh

Webopedia spellings:

Web site
JavaScript
e-mail
Webmaster

It'll do for me :) Now for the consistency clean up.
