Hello..

I am somewhat new to all of this (webiste desing and what not) and had a couple questions.

What is considered copyright infringement?

I have an idea about a website I would like to do, but there are other websites out there like it. I would like to use the layout of a couple of them..I will have my own content and pictures. Is this infringment? There are "layouts" a person could use to relay this information.

Using anyones layout or template code and simply filling in the blanks is definitely a copywrite infringement.

By modifying it to a certain extent you can certainly use another design as your inspiration, but to copy it exactly will cause problems.

Be carfull that by using somebody elses design and in similar niche as well as possibly being done for copywrite infringment you may also just be seen as a poor relation in that niche with nothing additional to offer and will never be taken seriously .

If you do believe you have something new to offer the searchers in a niche that already has well established other players then try to think of ways that searchers can see you are new and exciting by thinking outside of the box with presentation and content
