Videos from Google and Youtube

It's well known that google and youtube allow users to put videos on their sites, but if you want to do so, you have to use their flash media player.

If I decide to put a video I found on youtube/google on my site but with other flash media player, would there be any copyright problem?

Maybe this question sound kinda stupid but since google media player has its logo on it, I have my doubts.

What about if I download a video, and then I use it on my site with any media player? It would no longer be hosted by google but by me.

Sorry but if you didn't create the videos, they aren't yours to take and publish/broadcast/re-show somewhere else without getting specific permission from the copyright holder, typically the person/company who made the video.

An alternative is sharing tagged videos on YouTube and showing them via HTML pull on your own site. FYI [youtube.com]

For more alternatives and acceptable uses, and copyright-related info, check Google Video's and YouTube's Help sections -- Google Video [video.google.com]; YouTube [youtube.com] -- and each site's Terms of Use.
