I write to defend or advocate for others.
I write because I have something to say.
I write because I like to see people laugh or smile, so if possible I write to make people laugh.
I write to help or to enable people: To clarify, make something complex simple, to teach so that people can do things for themselves, be safer, maybe even happier.
I write as an expression of love: I love this world, the possibilities and beauty of it. I write because I remain hopeful that we all might just somehow manage to get along without killing or hating each other, or allowing needless suffering to persist, or that we might manage our ecosystem in such a way that equilibrium is maintained without having to suffer through global cataclysms.
I write because when I write I am. I am myself. I create myself. I express myself. Some part of me reaches out to the world and possibly touches the world, and maybe a small ripple spreads.
Why do you write?
I rarely write but have commissioned writers - the great and the good included - for years. So, with a bit of indulgence on your part...
Why do I work with you?
Because you can impart specialist knowledge to my readers.
Because you can entertain my readers.
Because you can give an authoritative opinion.
Because your opinion IS authoritative.
Because you make complicated issues clear.
Because you understand 'my' audience better than I do.
Because I trust you.
