Worries about hiring someone to check my code

Hi, Thanks for reading.

I recently finished writing an extensive PHP script for my website. It's taken hundreds of hours and I consider it very valuable.

It's also a site that will more than likely get a lot of traffic. I'm worried about server security issues and possible holes. To solve this, I'll probably need to hire somebody experienced with this.

My only concern is this person could just copy the code and easily manipulate it to produce a clone of my site. Is this probably/likely or am I just worrying too much?

Just get a non-disclosure and non-compete contract with the person before you allow them access. I was burned once by not having this in place and now I'll never work with a contractor without one. If they say no, there is always another one that will agree to it.
