Hi all,

I have a few hundred articles on my site, and I want people to be able to download PDF information guides on the site as well as read it online. I'll probably be grouping 4 articles together into 1 guide.

As far as I know, PDFs do get indexed, at least somewhat. If they do get indexed, will I have problems with duplicate content for the search engines? Is this a bad way to go?

Are PDFs a bad idea?

What are your experiences on this? Thanks

Brian

I use PDFs on several sites and have chosen to be careful of this dup issue. I have PDFs and print versions (esentially dups) in a separate folder that is disallow'd in my robots.txt

No problems with this method for several years. IMHO

Ah... That makes good sense. Have you found that PDFs add to the value of the site? Is this method appreciated?

Thanks a lot for the reply.

Best regards
