Have a great writer - but where should he post?

I hired a great writer, he is very prolific, but what I can't figure out is where we get the most bang for the buck?

He is doing press releases on PRweb, he can write articles and stuff, but where are best places to post stuff that allow a backlink to our site (which is why we are doing these writings)?

I guess the bigger question is - once you find a good writer where do we best use his talents to help with SEO?

You can send out some content on those free article sites. However I usually get my writers to write stuff that's more time consuming and needs more research. Since I don't have time to do those parts of the site.

What I want them to come up with is original and extensive content. I'm a firm believer in that good and valuable content will give you visitors, especially extensive content.

That's my advice, I know it hasn't much to do with SEO, or has it? Hm :)

What do you have your writer doing? I mean, what is the purpose of the work you have given them to do? What function does it fulfill?

shigamoto's right..

i mean.. if he is a really prolific writer as you said he is.. why not post it on your own website? tell him to write something about seo.. and post in on your site one by one..

not only would it drive visitors to your site.. your site would also gain a reputation as an authoritative source of exclusive seo articles..

I hope he's able to write a better headline than most of the stuff I see on PRWeb.

Hi.

Yes, indeed, articles for submission to article directories would be the logical choice. The databases of www.ezinearticles and www.goarticles seem to be the more popular among the bunch.

Additionally, you could even create your own blog and ask your "discovery" to publish compelling entries for you, with links to your main site of course.

Better yet, you could ask him to write a really good eBook or special report for a viral marketing campaign, then strategically place the links you want to include, and convert the work to .pdf format. Distribute this for free to the visitors of your website. You could even make it a condition to your visitors' subscription to your mailing list, if you're maintaining one. The result? Recurring traffic for your website, and maximum exposure for your affiliate links if applicable!
