I'm a newbie about this copyright things and have some questions..
- i've found some articles that are published as a hardcopy but not in digital form. These content is unique and i couldnt find on the net. Does it violate the copyrights if i publish them at my web site and give all the reference about this article?
-i've once found this in the copyrgiht info of an article
" Content may not be copied or emailed to multiple sites or posted to a listserv without the copyright holder's express written permission. However, users may print, download, or email articles for individual use."
if i'm using my website for my indvidual use only(but anyone can access), is it legal to publish the content? :)
thanks for any answer..
If something exists, for example a book, then the author owns copyright of that book. It cannot be delivered online without the copyright holder/author's permission. Just because you would be changing the delivery format (from hardcopy to digital) of that book doesn't absolve you from the breach of copyright.
As for your second point, "individual use" means just that - individual - ie your own personal use.
Publishing on a website you own, which is available not just to you as an individual but to the world at large, without the express permission of the author/copyright holder DOES NOT constitute personal use!
Don't do it :) or you may end up in trouble.
