Forum Moderators: not2easy
My site is community driven and I do publish a considerable amount of reprint articles from article directories and submissions that are sent to me that are submitted elsewhere, as well.
My forums contain a lot of useful unique content and I don't consider my articles to be "rocket science". They are primarily women's lifestyle type articles. (ie. gardening, cooking, organizing, budgeting, etc)
My community isn't huge. Over 6k members and traffic is roughly 2k unique daily visitors on the site overall, so obviously I could use more traffic. The forums are fairly active. Roughly 150-250 posts per day.
My members aren't really on the site to read articles. They do read them and do comment on them and they are an important part of the community, but it's primarily the forum content that is appealing to the majority of my readers.
I have been in the mindset of just sharing some of my articles for marketing purposes and the resource box exposure. My articles aren't on tons of sites. I'd say about 10-15 sites per article. Now I have to wonder if I should be keeping them as unique content for my own site exclusively.
Any and all feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Have the articles that you've already shared usurped you in the serps? That is, if you search keywords/phrases that should show you above the sites that are also using your content, are you above them? If so, I'd say continue to share (if you're getting a benefit by backlinks, etc). If the sites that are also posting your content show in the serps above you, then yes, you should probably keep it for yourself.
