Any one have experience with CB Protect's version 3 of "Virtual Vault" for Digital Rights Management of downloadable software products at via ClickBank?

This is my first eBook project and first use of ClickBank - specifically, a PDF format eBook.

Currently 2 issues to work out:
1. How to handle free updates? Just bypass Clickbank, keep a database of customers and mass email them when a free update is available, then test their license key against that database to allow access to the DRM server (once only)?

2. How to offer free 2nd copies (since the DRM only allows 1 copy on 1 PC. Same sort of problem as #1. above.

Ideas?

Thanks!

Thanks for the bump, Engine.
I've discovered that Virtual Vault does not work on the Mac. The market for my training e-book for digital artists has a significant Mac segment, so i've dropped Virtual Vault.

The question now is: Are there any user friendly, reasonably priced DRM systems that are cross-platform?

Have also gotten a pretty negative response from online resellers (digital art gallery shop sections) about using any form of DRM.

Cheers!
