Chasing down copycats

What does it take for you to react?

After reading some of the recent posts regarding plagarism, I'm wondering how much of your content has to be copied before you react? Do you pursue those that copy limited portions of your content or just those that copy a little larger portion, say a page or more?

Is there a down side to not aggressively "defending" your own material? I'm interested in just how much you're willing to let slide before you react, and how do you react?

I'm starting to notice small portions of our website being copied again and wonder if I should take the time to pursue this or not.

Have you added a copyright policy to your site, or do you feel that this is a waste of time?

Always have a copyright statement!

That said, and despite quite a lot of copying I have never done anying about it.

It hasn't really hurt our sales and lawyers are expensive and copyright is one of the most expensive areas in law.

I hate the DMCA ( search on adobe and dmca to see why) but if we decided to act we would hit the search engines with it. See [google.com...] for how to.

Very cheap and effective.
