I am placing images of my affiliate's widgets on my site and they want all discriptions of their widgets to be exactally what they have on their site. Question: If my site has all their widget text discriptions on my site, how do i avoid duplicate content problems? obviously i will have some of my own text on my site, but i would say 30-40% would be copy of their site descriptions and such. Any advice?

I would start by posing this question to the affiliate manager of the program. Perhaps you can educate him/her a bit and they will rescind this requirement.

Second, add unique content to the page like your review of the products, latest news, trends etc. As long as a certain percentage of the page contains original content ( not sure of the exact numbers, maybe some SEO guru can chime in ) then you should be ok.
