Blogging on whatever for money

I've noticed that there are a few blogs online that just post random things and add them to categories on their blog (like funny websites, game reviews, anything and everything). Of course, this is all original content. And if the blog is cool enough, you can get linked by other bloggers with high PR.

Anyone see potential? Or am I blinded and forgetting something big? I see the possibility of getting backlinks and making it into the serps.

I'd say the biggest challenge is getting traffic and links with a million other blogs out there.

Random content probably won't aid your search performance much, either. I'd try a narrower focus.

if you blog focuses on a theme then stick to it..

You may get short jump in rankings by posting on popular topics but what satys in the long run is the strong theme of the Blog.

That makes sense.

I remember finding a couple of blogs by people in Malaysia (they linked to each other) and they posted really random things, just to get up content I suppose.

Their placement of Google Ads were good and it looked like they had pretty decent traffic. I would imagine that they could make some "OK" money off a few clicks daily. I found one blog in the search engine by searching for something, PR5.
