Getting latest news about widgets

Where do you get your news?

I'm wondering how people that run a site containing the latest news stories about Widgets actually get the latest information?

At the moment, my source really is other news websites and visits to makers of widgets (press releases) etc.

Cheers

RSS readers loaded with tons of related (and some only vaguley related) feeds are an indispensable tool to a news site or blog like this.

ms348: that's exactly the way to do it ;)

There's a news digger website that already visit many news sites and extract the news headers based on keyword, you might want to take a look and if they're monitoring your keywords that's a big help.

Thanks for the info.

I forgot to say, does anybody actually try to contact widget makers' press contact to try and get them to forward news of new products or promotions to them directly? I might try, although for a small site they might not care I suppose.

they tend to contact me directly after a while, but its not much hassle to add your email to a list of press release emails, so I'd go ahead and try. They're not opposed to free press, no matter how small.
