I want to register the trademark for my domain and business name. Anyone know how to do this and what the cost would be?

Thanks

Last I checked, it was $350 to get a US copyright filed if you do it yourself. If it is important, I would recommend getting a lawyer to help you out.

Probably more info here:
[uspto.gov...]

I don't want a copyright. I want a trademark.

If you're wanting to make a trademark filing in the US, you can get info directly from the US Patent and Trademark office [uspto.gov]. It looks like the current cost [uspto.gov] for a new filing is $375.

Drop the zero, and you'll be in the ballpark. The current listed cost [copyright.gov] for a copyright filing is $30.

You might want to do some digging around the UPPTO office's website. At one time they were issuing trademarks left and right for domain names and some fools then got it in their heads that the grant of trademark gave them exclusive rights in common words and popular phrases. Things rapidly deteriorated and several years ago the USPTO issued a memo saying, in essence, that they weren't going to be so liberal in issuing trademarks for domain names anymore.

Do a little digging before you waste your money.

As always, talk to a lawyer too.
