Hey buddy

You can log on to various freelance service providers like :
www.elance.com
www.rentacoder.com
www.guru.com

If you are looking at a full-time job for content writing, you can register with various job sites.

All the Best!

Of course, Craigslist is worth browsing too. Some of the writing/editing jobs are set up for freelancers, telecommuters.

Be prepared for many of them to require some on-site time too.

From these sites :

www.elance.com
www.rentacoder.com
www.guru.com

Which do you consider the best? or how do you classify them in importance/popularity order?

I have used rentacoder several times in the past and I wonder if I'm shrink minded by not trying the others.

We've found several excellent editors through guru.com; not as much luck with the others, but perhaps our timing was off.

As a professional in search for projects:

I rate 'guru' as number 1 due to various reasons. First its rates are pretty affordable and secondly it has really good projects listed on it.

I tried rentacoder also but i don't think it is of much help if you are a fresher or are not ranked.

I am freelance content and article writer, currently in a quest of good employers...

Get out there and hustle.

Do you specialise (even broadly) in any subjects? Any writer worth their salt does. On the basis you do, target the better quality sites in these sectors. Contact them; pitch for business. Make friends with whoever commissions content. Send samples of your work. Get proactive.

These sites may not have any requirements NOW, but, if they're refreshing stuff regularly - and you know they are - they may need you soon. Stay in contact.

Find the key magazines/journals in your sectors. They will have websites. They will pay what I call 'proper' rates to writers.

Hustling will earn you a much higher rate per 1000 words/article than those on the databases mentioned. I have no idea why people accept such low rates at all!

Best to get quality work at a quality rate from a handful of clients than loads of little, low paying jobs. The quality work will also enhance your portfolio and open more doors for you as your reputation grows.

Just my tuppence ha'penny.

Are these English writing jobs you'll be looking for? The answer might be different if you are seeking employment for work in another language.
