Shipping duty on stock photo CDs

I got ripped off big time!

I'm in the UK and bought some royalty free CDs from a UK website in UK pounds. Paid £18 p&p.
CDs turned up (V low quality images) then 2 weeks later I get an invoice from FedEx for another £20 for import duty on importing the CDs from the USA.
To say I'm a little annoyed is an understatement. £40 p&p on 3 uncased CDs!

I know it's only slightly relevant to the forum but I thought someone here might have had a similar issue.

I take it that you have raised a complaint with the company?

Failing that it may be worth contacting the British Association of Picture Libraries & Agencies (BAPLA [bapla.org]) and finding out what they have to say about the matter.
